Addington Hills

Colours and hues.
Brown, orange,
green, blue.

Hint of pink in the clouds shimmer through.
Far stretch of trees,
an abundance of leaves,
a speck of humanity,
although still,

Roam free.

The Environment

The skyline sparkles like fireflies,
lit by street and car lights,
dimming the stars in the night sky.
It feels hot and nice in the summertime,
as glass skyscrapers project the sun like a magnify.

Less snow,
more sludge and sleet,
the early morning scent reeks,
of heated gasoline,
occasionally wet concrete.

The city tucked in snug,
with bed sheets of smog,
worsening allergies and coughs.

A simple breeze,
the trigger for your wheeze,
you’ve always had hay fever,
but not to this degree.

Now your eyes swell and water,
whilst you uncontrollably sneeze,
wossibly caused by the air quality,
it’s effect,
silent with the potential to be deadly.
