Museum & Archives and Research Room Update March 2022

The Riesco Gallery is currently under improvement works and a collection care project. We plan to re-open The Riesco Gallery in line with the new Kathakali exhibition ‘Life behind the Costume’ on 30th April to 21st May (Tues-Sat 11am - 4pm). Following the exhibition the Riesco Gallery will reopen in line with the opening times of the Archive Research Room.

The Museum of Croydon Then to Now upstairs galleries are currently closed over the next 2 years to allow for a collections care programme to be undertaken. In the meantime we’ll be delivering activities in an outreach way; through our digital offer, in partnership with libraries and community-centred projects.

Archives Research Room, now under the management of Croydon Libraries is open by appointment on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Appointments are available from 11-1pm and from 2-4pm and bookings can be made by emailing archives@croydon.gov.uk, providing details of the items you wish to view and preferences for day and time of an appointment.

We will continue to answer remote enquiries and work more closely with our Libraries colleagues in an integrated way to find new ways of sharing our collections with our residents

You can find out more and follow our progress on our social media accounts @museumofcroydon and @croydonlibs
