Young Archivists, 2024-2025
The Young Archivists project was a 15-month youth engagement programme running from March 2024 - May 2025. It brought ten 14-18-year-olds from Global Majority and migrant backgrounds in Croydon into working with Croydon Archives to develop skills in archiving, research, creative expression and design, exhibition curation and project management.
Routes to Roots: A South Asian Heritage Project, 2022-2025
The Maya Productions Routes to Roots Project is a multi-disciplinary heritage project working with South Asian communities across three cities - Croydon, Sheffield and Bradford.
This collection includes archive material relating to the outcomes of this project, comprising mainly digital files such as films, audio recordings, podcasts, images, posters, programmes, and scripts.
Crystal Palace FC - FA Cup Winners Parade, 2025
Digital photographs documenting the Crystal Palace Football Club FA Cup Winners’ Parade held in Croydon on 26 May 2025. The photographs record both the parade through the streets surrounding Selhurst Park and the subsequent celebration event held at the stadium.
Records of the Samuel Coleridge-Taylor 150 Project, 2025-2026
This collection comprises the digital records of the Samuel Coleridge-Taylor 150 project - a season of celebratory performances, artworks, music and more to mark the 150th anniversary of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. Samuel Coleridge-Taylor was a globally renowned composer and conductor with roots in Croydon.
The six-month anniversary programme included a new exhibition at the Museum of Croydon, the takeover of Croydon Clocktower by The BRIT School, a weekend of live music in the town centre at Croydon - "Gladi Gladi", and a concert with the London Mozart Players at Fairfield Halls.
Little Manhattan Project, 2023-2024
This project, led by Digital Drama in partnership with Croydon Archives, the Museum of Croydon and Croydon Libraries, captured and preserved stories from the local community focusing on Croydon's urban landscape and in particular, the skyline that rose above the town in the post-war period between the 1950s and 1970s.
Records of Croydon Council Committees, 2019-2025
This collection comprises the records of Croydon Council committees, including the Scrutiny and Overview Committee, the Ethics Committee, Licensing Committee, Pension Committee, and the Planning Committee.
The records include agendas, minutes and papers documenting the Council’s governance and decision-making processes.
