Temporary exhibition Space

Location

The Special Exhibitions Gallery 1 (known as SEG1) is located on Level 1 of the Croydon Clocktower. To access the level use the public lift or walk up main staircase. To enter the galleries, walk through the Museum’s lobby reception area into SEG1. The building is also home to other public services such as Croydon Archives’ research room, Croydon Adult Learning & Training (CALAT) and the David Lean Cinema, which is programmed by a local friends group.

Suitability

This space is most suitable for 3D and 2D works and works that require more invigilation/security. Cases are available (subject to availability). Walls can be fixed to in several ways - please discuss appropriate fixings with your Museum Lead when booking. The SEG1 is a very large temporary exhibition space, please ensure you visit before requesting a booking of the space.

Lighting & Power

The walls are lit by Museum spec low LUX level lighting with no natural light, all lighting can be adjusted/reduced. Power can be found throughout the gallery, please request full CAD drawings from your Museum Lead when booking.

Layout and Dimensions

Your Museum Lead will be able to give you full CAD drawings and elevations for the SEG1 when booked. The panels on walls can not be moved, and no air handling monitors, access panels, environmental monitors or vents can be covered.
