Want to join a youth collective and get involved in opportunities to exhibit your artwork in Croydon?
Come along on Saturday 19th April for a creative workshop and visit to the Young Archivists’ exhibition, in collaboration with Art Press, Turf Projects’ collective for young artists. Art Press are planning an exhibition for later this year, and this is your chance to get involved!
The workshop will be led by 4 of the Young Archivists: Taisia, Adjoa, Prince and Rayhaan. They will share some insights into the ideas behind their exhibition ‘Archives Can Be Anything’, and talk about the process of developing their creative projects. They will also lead a workshop where we will explore making political statements through artworks, and using exhibitions to communicate important messages about our local area or communities. We will make our own badges and protest signs about the issues that are important to us - young people have lots to say and it’s time everyone listened!
The workshop is free and open to young people aged 25 and under. Places are limited - email francesca.telling@croydon.gov.uk to sign up!
If you have any questions about the day or specific access requirements you want to share, feel free to email francesca.telling@croydon.gov.uk.
